Supported Text Formatting

The Journey editor is a rich text editor that supports basic Markdown syntax. In this article, you'll discover how to format your text using its common text formatting features.

Bold

Press the "B" button or use syntax **sample text** followed by space or return key.

Italic

Press the "I" button or use syntax *sample text* followed by space or return key.

Strikethrough

Press the "S" button or use syntax ~~sample text~~ followed by space or return key.

Header

Android, Journey Desktop (Mac, PC and Linux):

Press the "H" button or use syntax below followed by space or return key.

Blockquote

Press the quote icon or use syntax > Sample text followed by return key.

Unordered List

Ordered List

Press the numbered list icon or use syntax 1. Sample text followed by space or return key. To make a nested list, tap or click on the indent button.

iOS, Mac Catalyst and Web:

Tap or click on the list icon > tap or click on the Ordered List button. Alternatively, use syntax 1. Sample text followed by space or return key.

To make a nested list, tap or click on the indent button.

Checklist

Android, Journey Desktop (Mac, PC and Linux):

Press the check list icon or use syntax - [ ] Sample text followed by space or return key.

iOS, Mac Catalyst and Web:

Tap or click on the list icon > tap or click on the Task List button. Alternatively, use syntax - [ ] Sample text followed by space or return key.

Indentation

Android, iOS and Mac Catalyst:

Press the left indent or right indent icon.

Journey Desktop (Mac, PC and Linux) & Web:

Press Tab for right indent and Shift + Tab for left indent.

Code

Type Sample code with ` at the start and end of the code followed by space or return key.

Font Color

Android, Journey Desktop (Mac, PC and Linux):

Click or tap on the Color Wheel > select Color.

iOS and Mac Catalyst:

To change the Font Color, click or tap on the Color Wheel > tap on the Font Color circle > select Color.

To change the Background Color > click or tap on the Color Wheel > tap on the Background Color circle > select Color.

Tips: Customize your own colors by tapping on the Spectrum or Sliders button.

Web:

Click on the "Select Font Color" button > select Color.

Highlight Text

Long press the texts to be highlighted > Tap on Highlighter icon > select Colour.

To remove highlight, select the highlighted words > Tap the Remove Highlight icon (next to Highlighter icon).
