How to Add a Cloud Sync

Steps to add a cloud synchronization service in Journey.
Last Updated By Journey on May 4, 2025 3:38 PM

Journey stores your journal entries on Journey Cloud Sync and/or Google Drive app data, keeping them up to date on your computers and mobile devices signed in to the same Journey account. To enable synchronization with Journey Cloud Sync or Google Drive, please sign in to your Journey account. Please note that Journey Cloud Sync and Google Drive work app data separately, and newly created entries do not sync across cloud storages.

Android, iOS, Mac Catalyst

Go to Settings > Data & Cloud Services > Add Cloud Service.

Journey Desktop (Windows, Mac & Linux):

Go to Settings > Data > Add Cloud Service.

Web

Go to Settings > Cloud > Add a New Cloud Service.

For Google Drive Sync: Please take note that you will not be able to see your entries from Google Drive as they are stored as hidden in-app data. This is done to prevent other third party apps or people from accessing your personal journal. Journey does not have the permission to access to your Google Drive storage other than Journey's in-app data. The Journey team has no access to your journal entries as your data is stored in your Google Drive. Please refer to Google’s terms of service & privacy policy to understand how Google handles your data.

Journey does not sync your journal entries using iCloud.

You can find Journey's privacy policy here.
